چکیده
The paper brings forward ways to solve the problem of estimating trunk diameter using data airborne laser scanning (LIDAR) relevant for forest inventory. At first stage studying, it was defined regularities tree height and relations various species, as well coefficients coupling equations significance “height-diameter” based on field data. second stage, calculated crown parameters (diameter volume) at 1.3 m level accounting dependent species. Based estimated LIDAR data, resulting calculations diameters were made with 83.2% accuracy. proposed calculation is an important step further development automated algorithm obtain basic taxation indicators, such number, diameter. got by this way can be used high density forests while cuttings assessment LIDAR.

Canopy Extraction Using Airborne Laser Scanning Data in Forestry Areas
To understand the biomass condition in the forestry areas, the detection for individual trees becomes an important topic. For forestry management, the canopy may be described with several parameters, e.g., number of stems, stand position, tree height, timber volume, canopy cover, etc. Traditional methods rely on field measurements, imagery, and radar data to derive the canopy information. Follo...
متن کاملPlane Fitting on Airborne Laser Scanning Data Using RANSAC
Model fitting refers to problem that computing the most ideal parameters of a model so that the model gives the greatest extent of coincidence with the data. The most widely used method for fitting data with Gaussian noises should be ordinary least squares. However, the ordinary least squares method treats each datum equally, which makes it unsuitable for fitting the data containing outliers. T...
متن کاملAirborne Laser Scanning: Clustering in Raw Data
We implemented a strategy for terrain, vegetation and building detection, based on laser range data only. The result was obtained by working on raw data, so we were able to take advantage of the full resolution potential of laser scanning. The detection of objects was performed in two stages: first, elevated objects and ground are separated, and then the objects are classified as vegetation or ...
متن کاملSurface Clustering from Airborne Laser Scanning Data
This paper presents an algorithm for the extraction of surface clusters from airborne laser data. Surface structure analysis is fundamental to almost any application involving LIDAR data, yet most algorithms focus only on identifying planar segments. The proposed algorithm is more general insofar as it aims at extracting surface segments that exhibit an homogeneous behavior, without restriction...
متن کاملHow to Evaluate the Quality of Airborne Laser Scanning Data
The discussion on the quality of digital elevation models form airborne laser scanner was dominated by the proof of vertical and horizontal accuracy. If the accuracy criteria were verified by ground control points, the evidence of high quality was produced. Based on experiences in projects for the Swiss Federal Office of Topography and according to the lidar requirements formulated by the US Am...
